This is by far one of our favorite hashtags “#findmomo” and what an awesome idea! Imagine “Where’s Waldo”, but where all the Instagram community can participate by hiding their own “momo”; which in this case is Andrew’s dog.
On a Hunt to #findmomo with @andrewknapp
If you’re a “Where’s Waldo” fan, you’re going to love Andrew Knapp’s (@andrewknapp) Instagram photos. Andrew’s stunning landscapes often come with a twist: somewhere in the scene his border collie, Momo, is hiding from view. Andrew uses the hashtag #findmomo in his captions to encourage other Instagrammers to play along and spot Momo.
Andrew says the series of photos started by chance. “I love taking landscape shots, and Momo is too photogenic to not be in photos. He usually runs ahead of me when I’m tossing a stick for him, and it so happened that he ended up in a couple of the shots. I started hashtagging #findmomo and it all kind of pieced itself together!”
Follow Instagram’s Weekend Hashtag Project, by inputing “#WHPfromwhereistand” in Instaplayer and witness how every new photo that is tagged around the world appears live on your wall of photos!
This Weekend’s Hashtag Project: #WHPfromwhereistand
Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes & hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a photo announcing the weekend’s project every Friday
Last weekend we asked you to look up, so it’s only natural that this weekend we ask you to capture photographs of what you see when you look down at your feet! Some tips to get you started: look for interesting textures and patterns on the ground like marble, wood or even fallen leaves. The beach can make an excellent backdrop for this prompt; and keep an eye out for street art displayed on concrete!
PROJECT RULES: Please only add the hashtag #WHPfromwhereistand to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any image taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured right here Monday morning!
This is super cool! And if you input “The Treehotel” as a location in Instaplayer, besides seeing all the beautiful photos from that location, every time a new photo is taken, it will instantly appear on the screen and be added to the animated wall of photos.
A Night in Sweden’s Treehotel
In a remote part of Swedish Lapland, tucked away in a forest just south of the Arctic Circle, are the most stylish tree houses in the world. The Treehotel in Harads, Sweden, has five unique “treerooms” all elevated 4-6 meters above ground: The Cabin, The Mirrorcube, The Bird’s Nest, The Blue Cone, and The UFO. Each room was designed by one of Scandinavia’s leading architects with custom-designed furniture, lighting, and fabrics.
The idea behind the Treehotel is to create a space that gives people a chance to “experience nature amongst the tree-tops, while also providing a uniquely designed housing experience.” Want to see more? Check out photos Instagrammers have taken there by visiting the Treehotel location page.
Awesome pics! Enjoy it by typing #ComingOfAgeDay in Instaplayer.
Japan’s Coming of Age Day (成人の日)
On the second Monday of every January, Japan observes Coming of Age Day, a holiday meant to commemorate and celebrate young Japanese men and women who turned 20—legal adult age—during the previous year.
While Coming of Age Day was made an official holiday in 1948, similar ceremonies have been held throughout Japan since the early 8th century. Japanese men and women celebrating the occasion often don traditional clothing and attend events at local government offices in the morning before hosting parties and celebrating with friends and family later in the day.
